As with other timber frame buildings, the site plan and post code present all the information we require to calculate detailed wind and snow loads. With multistory buildings overall stability can be complex and expensive this is where our experience of a number of innovative racking designs (truss racking panels, load bearing & non-load bearing racking panels, cross laminated timber, racking frames, parapets, handrails and floor/roof diaphragms) can produce design’s, which provide a cost effective final build.

More over we have experience with a number of problems that are more common in multistory buildings (sound transmission and fire to party wall/floors, floor frequency problems, disproportionate collapse and robustness of design). A major part of multistory timber frame is the speed of erection and we have extensive experience with large panel design (both walls and floors) and with cost-effective connection details.

Design drawings and calculations are usually provided in PDF format which is easy to print or send by e-mail. We are able to arrange architectural drawings, 3D model design, site drawings and panel/production drawings if required.
